DJ SL Mix CD that came with Blackstar - Tribute To Haile Selassie I

Ahh! I'd updated this on discogs

https://www.discogs..../release/384968

Didn't see this had been posted on here. However -

I had 2 & 4 as the original mixes of "Get Wild" and "Emperor Sellasie I".

The "His Imperial Majesty" you have as the 3rd Eye mix - it's just the same version as on the Blackstar album, no? Check -

No one got back to me in the other thread about that... lol

Also there is an extra track between "Let Jah Be Praised" and "Alaska Ride" and "Kunte Kinte", which might just be an alternate mix of "Million" though I haven't checked that closely, it's definitely got Million Dan vocals in it.

I put this in my wants list last year, cant remember if i thought it was the original version as i already have the other.

Its definitely the Firefox remix in the SL mix, doesn't look like they coordinated the mix & the LP release to match up too well.

I dont know where the original information came from about the Emperor Sellasie I being a Firefox remix tbh, but it sounds like a very similar breaks pattern to his 'Eye Water' tune?

Get Wild is def the Firefox remix (i think the labels are switched on the vinyl release?) but you can tell the Bristol sound of the revered looping bit on the vocal.

Sounds like the same 3rd eye remix, but same trouble again not knowing which release has the correct details?!

I couldnt hear another track inbetween? "Alaska Ride" fades down & then "Kunte Kinte" from the top? unless its another version of "Alaska Ride" with extra vocals?

I see what threw me in the other thread - the clip on Juno drops in about

into the track, which made me think it was a different version. Yeah, I think you must be right about it being a Roni Size / Firefox version, as like mentioned in the other thread its sort of reminiscent of "Fashion" also.

Did you check out the track between "Let Jah Be Praised" & "Alaska Ride" ?
