These were from when it was at test press stage and the tracks often had different b sides and occasionally unreleased tunes. I won RAMT23 off eBay the other day, which has got Hush Hush on one side, not sure what the other side is yet until it comes through! Definitly not Black Hole though like on Ram Raiders III though. I have never seen these catalogued and are not on RDB or discogs, anyone know the score? I can start it off with ones I know of, I guess we can patch some together through looking at the rubbed out cats on RAM presses! RAMT23 - Shimon Hush Hush b/w ?? (when it comes i can say..)RAMT25 - Origin Unknown Equinox (one sided)RAMT26 - Shimon & Andy C Mind Killer b/w ?? All the ones I know of have plain black labels. Guest blah
I think I might still have a few of these left at home as sold some of em but definitely have nightvision left, most of em were one sided and are VERY rare and the only reason I have em is a certain dj I know didn't like every ram and I used to bribe off em (not cheap either) but I had em months before they came out .shame ram went a bit pony (like most big labels) as they were good up till 2004 some of the release copys still have the ramt cat no. on but etched out as it would save money on the stampers instead of getting a new master made.but then thats the main reason test presses come about really. haste
Can people who have the later Ram releases have a look at their vinyl for any scratched out cat nos so we can make a list of all the test press releases?
Guest blah
Ill have a look at all my rams, promos or not as I think the test pressings go back as far as ram trilogy 1 as my release copy had one side of vol 1 on one side and another side of vol 2 on the other and that was a release copy, I think that had ramt on it? but that was 98 and some kid that I knew back then gave me a score for it plus his release copy just so he could have it before anyone else. the only problem I see is that there will be a inevitable gap in the ramt tests that we wont ever know because they might never been released on promo in any form I.E ed rush & opticals remix of terminal 1 or turbulence remix for instance, if they did were talking 2 or 3 copys or something ridiculous as that or they were crap pressing

The_Manipulator
And as I mentioned here, RAMT36 is Moving Fusion - Survival. But in most cases you should be able to get these off the official releases. They still have the promo cat# listed.

The_Manipulator
hard to tell, scratched over the top with the new cat, but i think:RAMT10 = RAMM31ERAMT15 = RAMM30DRAMT55 = RAMM42AARAMT55 or 56 = RAMMLP5CRAMT9 = RAMM31FRAMT10 = RAMM31ERAMT19 = RAMM30ERAMT55 = RAMM42AA RAMT28 = ADMM31ARAMT44 = ADMM31AA(On a sidenote, RAMM39AA has apart from RAMT48 also ADMM31AA scratched out!). And the rest was basically what eXtreme has. And a remark that the auction on Ebay doesn't say this RAMT23 is actually double sided! "Not sure about flip" can also mean the seller isn't sure if it's one-sided or not (for example when she's working off a list she made...) Guest rage
Ez .. It was me that posted that thread on DOA, and what I wrote about Hush Hush was wrong, it is one sided also. It is a very similar pressing to the promo version of Turbulence, with the tune on one side and grooves on the other, but no sound. Plain black labels on both sides. It definitely said on that other auction for Black Hole that there was something on the flip, but maybe the seller was mistaken.. I cant find the link for it unfortunately. Cheers for the catalog, has anyone got a few of these? Would be good to know how many were done of each, my guess is 15-20 max but who knows.. its nice to own one though! Would love to get my hands on those unreleased remixes!

I think we should note which ones are confirmed from the vinyl source and which ones only from catalogue numbers. As said, I've got RAMT36 and rage has got RAMT23. Guest blah
ramt 16 is midnight run by shimon on true players lp ep 02 . the missing ones might be on other labels like that will make it any more easy for us so just check ram artists on other labels to make it easy for a start. I think the reason the ram tests came about is probably around the time of molten beats as there was a lot of mad cat no.s on the album and releases at that time, I did make a list over the weekend but made it round a mates house who has many more rams than I do then left it at his (this sounds familiar).I think the original idea for molten beats was just an ram album or ep then they changed it to just ram trilogy. for evidence look at the cat no. for dj freedom and decorum on android ep on liftin spirit as they have ram 26 numbers and some of the lp has ram 26 a,b,c,e,f,g (can't remember in what order as list has vanished). will get back on this later as there was other bits on that list like electro melody on ram trilogy chapter 4 has an adamm cat no. originally on the run out groove next to the ramt no. but then all of this is just train spotter extremity innit? Ray Rampage
I had the joy of tidying up Ram stock room few weeks back, theres was a few test presses there. Some that never got to see light of day too I have two in my collection. I plan on getting more  RAMT14 Is an early version of Mind Killer Shimon on his own I think Might of even been called something else but its later become Andy C and Shimon - Mind killer
blah
I think that this http://www.rolldabeats.com/release/ram_test_presses/ramt64 could be an early version of ghost lane as I remember there being a version of this with out the bit of vin diesel waffling about "tools & prospecter type" from the film pitch black in the breakdown . there used to be an advert on kool fm at the time (before I stopped listening to kool) that didn't have it on and skibba and shabba d had there on lyrics that went with this tune quite well advertising some thing at the light house were ever that was? the ad (which was 3 mins long) finished on the breakdown with skibba & shabba going "the lighthouse" repeatedly till it faded out and I think moving fusion then finished the track and decided to put the crap bit of vin diesel in the breakdown because it would have seemed empty otherwise, maybe?. only speculation though

Christopher
Just picking up on these. I plan to go through and delete every single one that we have no info for. They may well exist but I don't think there's any point having them up there if we don't have track info tbh I think the inverse; it'd be nicer to have at least an entry because that indicates authenticity at least, that the release itself is verifiable even if the full T/L is not certain. And who knows, perhaps a polite email or tweet to Andy C / Red One / Shimon etc may yet yield some details to fill in the gaps?
haste
I don't know about that. There are many releases that we've put in place to fill in gaps that have turned out to not exist. Just the fact that there's a RAMT9 doesn't necessarily mean that there's a RAMT8, for example. They could have planned to get some TPs with that cat no and then never got round to it. Perhaps they also just forgot that they were on #7 and skipped a cat no. This sort of thing happens quite often, believe it or not! I only want to have releases in here that we can prove exist and none of these ??? ones are proven at the moment. If we find info on the release then it goes in, until then I really don't think we can just assume they exist. I feel it makes the site less trustworthy if we're including releases that we can't prove are actually out there!

I work at an indie label and .... may have ... accidentally misassigned identical catalogue numbers to one or more releases in the past :/ (as we use one incrementing number but a variety of prefixes and suffixes for our cat numbers, until we had one definitive database of releases and available catnos keeping track of who had assigned what was particularly tricky, especially for long or delayed projects) Personally though I'm very much of the 'exists until proven otherwise' completist POV.
