neurotix
Ok peeps, so I have it from great authority (ok, a random post on internet) that the vocal chants on sonz of loop da loop - far out are by Le Mystère Des Voix Bulgares,a bulgarian choir. After listening to some of their stuff I'm certain the post is correct. However I dont know which track. They all sound the same and after a couple of minutes they do ya head in. In fact I might have even heard the sample already and missed it, its quite hard to concentrate, your mind wonders. Their stuff was released in this country by 4AD so I am presuming it might be taken from one of these UK releases. Sonz of loop was '91 so its got to be before that. This is the same thing used for unreleased track by Bukem - Atmospheric Jubilancy. And I've also got a feeling we are gonna find the reverse chant sound used in Q Project - Champion sound. Those are just the ones that spring to mind. So who wants to trawl through a load of Bulgarian waffle? You know it makes sense. C'mon, who's with me? haste
Just heard a little bit on YouTube and it's possible, the style sounds similar. Not sure I can be arsed to listen through their entire back catalogue to find the samples though It could also easily be something entirely different! It looks like they have a load of stuff on Spotify if people want to listen through

JVXP
Yeah, that's the first track from the Le Mystère des Voix Bulgares called Пиленце пее. (Or "Pilentze Pee" - Singing Bird) There are several versions on youtube, but NOT the Original Bulgarian State Radio & Television Female Vocal Choir version. (could be 'cos it's blocked where i live?!) Edit: found ithttp://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=a15Q1LLv0xo
Hattrixx
I didn't hear the sample in there, JVXP?
JVXP
Of course you are right, i was thinking of that jason derulo song that has that sample. But you gotta agree that it sound quite familiar. Outlander could've used one of the Voix tracks too. I'll try to check out all the tracks from all
JVXP
Ahhhhh, OK so here's the chain: Everyone sampled it from THIS record: Simon Harris – Beats Breaks & Scratches Volume 7 http://www.discogs.com/Simon-Harris-Beats-Breaks-Scratches-Volume-7/release/366290 The specific sample from Far Out is at 2:42: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ada8U8F3Qrw So it most certainly IS from one of Le Mystère des Voix Bulgares volumes, as every sample on the Simon Harris beats, breaks and scratches is from other releases. So we just need to find out which specific track.
mikeeee-mk2
Everyone sampled it from THIS record:Simon Harris – Beats Breaks & Scratches Volume 7http://www.discogs.c.../release/366290 Not everyone, there are a few records that use other samples of the choir, not on the Simon Harris record (e.g. DJ D Hass - Out of Africa, Ya Yas - Loove (Quadromania mix), Agent Orange - Sounds a Bit Flakey) I had a go at finding the origin of the Far Out sample, but it got a bit tedious after a while... JVXP
Sure, sure, the tunes mentioned in the other thread are obivously from other sources. I was just referring to Far Out and the Atmospheric Jubilancy track.
Ornette
I knew there was another one - the start of that "Far Out" / Simon Harris sample is in The Bookworm - Listen...
