NOT the flip side to Burning on the original Rugged 13 (Travelling remix) which people seem to get confused with but a separate release with a remix of Burning itself.

Flipping love the Burning track, but have never even heard the remix on this supposed white label. Anyone got any info on it????

Bet it doesn't exist.

I've looked at these particular releases often in the past, mostly in some sort of vain attempt to determine if the original mix of "Travelling" ever actually saw a release or not (spoiler: it didn't.) There was also an entry on here for RUGGED5 at one point, theorised to be a promo/TP release of GLR005 but looks like that has since been removed.

What I do know is that in the early days of this database, 'nominal' releases were entered to fill gaps, as of such some phantom releases were 'deemed' to exist when in reality they really do not.

Typically this happened over remix 12"s. Where, in this example, one side is a remix and the other side an original, possibly these details got confused where site founder Thijs assumed there must be an 'originals' 12" ie. RUGGED13 and then a 'remixes' 12" ie. RUGGED13X. These erroneous details were then later translated over to discogs, where they have remained without challenge.

I recently merged a release on discogs over this very same issue. JOKER07 is a release of two remixes, "Yeah Man" and "Sweetie". However I'm pretty certain a JOKER07R was once on here, where by that had the two remixes on it - with JOKER07 having the 'originals'. Both JOKER 7 & JOKER 7R were given to exist on discogs, until I merged the two, saying the difference was an erroneous copy over of details from here:

Long story short - I don't think a Burning Remix exists

Absolutely fantastic reply Ornette, thank you. I’m inclined to agree with you and I reckon we think along the same lines as I was debating this also. I noticed the Joker07 remixes too a while back and often wondered about it. I think fir such a classic scene and era, this early trend of “gap filling” in label releases really needs to be addressed a quarter of a century later.

To be fair, it was an effective system at the time and there was a point where Rolldabeats was way more comprehensive than Discogs in terms of releases, probably up until (and beyond) the advent of 'wiki-ogs'.

Tarzan to my mind was an extension of the old text-based discography files that were doing the rounds in the early 2000s so it made sense to deduce other releases based on info that was available, this info was cross-checked and amended via the myriad posts on here, where we determined the specific details and pointed to errors/ mistakes

Obviously Rolldabeats went through its own relaunch in 2009 where a massive library of audio clips were added to the database, plus a 'tracks' back-end that has only just been matched by Discogs. Unfortunately since, there has been a lack of guidance on the site and much of the google indexing was lost at the time of relaunch, so pretty much remains in a state of disrepair. I had my own perspectives on how the site ought to proceed at various points but seemed my input wasn't particularily welcome or ever invited to become part of the admin.

Still, a gold mine of info remains in the threads on here
