  1. personally i am certain that money mad is not sampled from the Latee track. there are plenty of clean breaks on the 'money mad' bonus beats however.
  2. ah.. the much discussed ultramagnetic mcs -chorus line / james brown - can i get some help break
  3. and a bit of soul pride now and again
  4. another source of the 'mantronix amen' is on the b side of an old UK rap 12inch i have called atomic air raid, by first frontal assault. as well as the instrumental it has a track called 'drum raid'.on this there are 4 bars of clean loop in the middle, a couple of the bars have added reverb. released in 92, so could possibly be what your after.
  5. I have a decent mp3 of the track now, but dont have enough atachment space to upload the break
  6. yeah, i've been after this break for years too, but i've just had a 'break through' (sorry) a track called 'that's how i'm living' by Tony Scott has got 4 bars of clean break near the end, complete with the little 'wooh' on the first and 3rd bar. only heard a poor copy on you-tube so not sure if it's the original source.
  7. there is a breakdown near the end when what sounds like 'hip drop' loops on its own, then a second beat comes in on top and how good is 'serve tea then murder!!!'
  8. dusting off a few old 12's last night i noticed SL2 - 'changing trax' uses this break - what a track! highly recommended.
  9. certainly sounds like 'critical beatdown' to me. that video is pretty scary!!
  10. 'think' has got 4 breaks?? 1 - wooh yeah 2 - go on girl (vocal on bass drum only, this is where the clean break comes from) 3 - the bit you call 'do better hank' 4 - sounds like 'you dance rhythm' - like on leviticus, the burial
  11. someone should track down that girl on the drums. - she's brilliant got that same kind of classic sound as graham central station...... do you think they call her the wizard-ess??
  12. i've got the original and the 1990 remix of i'm riffin' and i can't hear anything from either of them in the prodigy track. whoever made that claim is way off. on the subject of the break itself, i dont hear any funky drummer, but i think there's more than a little 'do this my way' in there. i'd say that makes it a 3rd generation beat??

i'm pretty sure, i had the vertigo 12 inch playing at 33. i've listened to 'give the drummer some' 1000s of time and could recognise it however messed up and modified. i'm sure they just added the 'hey' to give a different feel, and messed with the sound quality to get it how they wanted.

haven't heard that tune for a while, i enjoyed digging that out. that's the beat from 'give the drummer some' by ultramagnetic mcs. and if anyone knows where the ultras got it from.. do tell.
  15. i'm pretty sure it's got one of the breaks from the first kool and the gang album in it, give it up or perhaps chocolate buttermilk
