NicTVG
Posed this question a couple other places. I am looking to present remixes in a tracklist way that solves two problems:1) Several people outside the electronic music scene do not understand that the Remixer is a person and not just part of the title.2) Non dj oriented digital distributors expect data in the form of One Artist - Track Title. This causes the remixer to not be found in searches. Some of the suggestions I've gotten so far: Artist - Track (Remixed by Remixer)- solves problem #1 Remixer - Remix of Track by Artist- solves #2 making the original artist unsearchable- potentially more confusing Any other suggestions? haste
I'm not sure there's an easy solution to this. The second option seems a very confusing way of handling the problem. If the system simply won't handle having an artist tied as a remixer then I don't see a way in which you can force the system to search both artists. It's just not going to be possible Is your issue with the physical system and its hold ups or are you more worried about the customer's understanding of the info? NicTVG
Yes, I think I'm looking a limitation when there is no way to get some of the distributors to make multiple associations from track to artists. :| The main goal would be readable followed by not underplaying the contribution of the remixer.
