FuZion
Sorry this isn't a short one, but I don't do these 'plug' often since I'm not a fan of em myself. Let me give a very brief intro me & my radio show first. My name isn't FuZion, it's Russ, but people call me FuZion. I've been DJing for around 12 years & almost 11 of those on radio. My radio show has gone through some changes over the past 6 months & tonight is the first episode of a new chapter. Now after a few years being a member of this site, adding & amending info for RDB, I know this place is used by straight talking music lovers. No cat fights & no childish nonsense, so it'd be great to have some of you tune in for this one & contribute. (Also, in time, I'm hoping to be able to link the info I'll be presenting in these review shows with the info on RBD, but more on that later). So here goes... The first episode of the Drum & Bass review show will try to piece together what makes Drum & Bass, Drum & Bass... Although with so many questions you might just end the show with even more questions. Have you got a friend that just doesn't get it?Do you know people that simply write Drum & Bass off as "all the same"?Maybe you listen to DnB & you'd like to get a little more grasp of the scene...or simply, you like DnB & you like good DnB... So seriously, what is Drum & Bass? Is it just dance music with an attitude? Is it a jumble of noisy sounds cobbled together to make a rhythm? Is it a finely crafted art that brings the sounds of the 'underground' & professional production together in a unique blend of musical talent?or is it simply music with a name given to help us file & pigeon hole it? ... On to tonights show & how we're gonna try to sort this out with YOUR help! If you haven't already, head to http://ukbassradio.com from 7pm. Feel free to post your views here, but it would be great to see some of the RDB & members crew join in the chat room & contribute your views LIVE & bring along those that don't normally give DnB a look in. Haste, I expect you in the chatroom full attendance This is where the DnB review starts... Peace, FuZion.
FuZion
Last week show went well & most people seemed to lean towards DnB being more about the BPM than the sound since there's so much variety in DnB productions. There were some interesting chats on the go too. If anyone's free this week, I'll be focussing on tunes that are not DnB, & have been remixed to DnB. FuZion. Ornette
This is an interesting question, I'll be posting something up surrounding this very soon. I'll try and think of some answers to put in this thread in the mean time
