RIVET 1201:a correction to the database? or my copy=forgery?

ok so I've been looking for this for a while, and finally got if off ebay, off someone I bought from first time ever, but the person had good feedback

it's a promo copy

I'm also apprehensive that it might be a bootleg or forgery of some sorts. Maybe I'm just paranoid because I looked for this for so long. I don't even know how often forgery/bootlegs occur for dnb. The sound quality is normal for the record, so I have no reason to think it's an mp3->vinyl ripoff. Still, I'm not totally sure.

there are some discrepancies with the tarzan antry. So hopefully others of you out there have a copy of this, or even a promo copy like mine, and can confirm/disconfirm.

Discrepancy One: Catalogue

mine says "RIVIT 1201 A" on one side, along with an etching in smaller letters that looks like "DAMONT."

the other side has "RIVET-1201-B-1" etched on the other side, in letters whose font size is slightly larger than the font size on the a side. It also has an etching of the letters "MT", with the text etched so that the feet of the "M" point towards the center of the record, if you know what I mean.

so is the cat #, for their first release ever, rivet or rivit? And should I be suspicious of the differing size text in etchings (and diff cat numbers on both sides)? Or is it instead just what happened when a then-small starting label went about getting some promos out? Reinforced is my favorite label, so I would like to know if my best and cherished find so far is a damned fake or not.

Discrepancy #2: four tracks not two.

It's still just rising sun and all be free. But there are two versions of each. The rising sun side has two rising sun tracks (with a clear space in the grooves between the two)

The all be free side has two all be free tracks (with a clear space in the grooves between the two).

Not a big deal really. The two tracks more or less flow together as one track for either side when just listening to it, but it's definitely 4 tracks, at least on the copy I have in my hand right now.

anyone willing to compare notes with me will be much appreciated

ill take a look at my copy tonight. :)

im sure its def. a 4 tracker.

EDIT: if i remember, 4 Hero got ripped off by someone & had to re-issue the 12" again, maybe the very first record was a 2 tracker only?

there's a 4 Hero interview online somewhere that covers the story ..

  .... very important quetions, really.... is it about the music or about owning the record?

It is probably about getting his Reinforced collection complete. In which case a bad bootleg of Reinforced 1 is NOT the same as the original pressing, even though they may contain the same music.

And additionally, bootlegs are taken from a vinyl source in most cases, which means the sound quality isn't nearly as good as the original.
