MR2
I was wondering if someone could clear this one up for me? This release, although only listed once in the Metalheadz database is listed twice in the Discogs database. It states that this 12" was actually repressed the same year (1996) and the only way you can tell the difference is the repress has a full release sleeve and also the catalogue number in the run out grooves differs from the original i.e. METH008 as opposed to MET008. I was unaware that this had been repressed at all so I just wanted to check if my copy was the initial release or if it is indeed a repress as the Discogs database claims. I was aware however that a limited number of releases actually had proper sleeves as opposed to plain black ones. If I remember correctly not all Metalheadz releases actually came with artwork sleeves anyway so I am unsure if someone is giving out the wrong information here. Your help would be appreciated, as always!!
Phokus
My copy of this has a full art sleeve, not the standard Metalheadz house sleeve (grey with the skull on it). Whether that's a repress or not, I don't know! I bought it pretty much when it came out, I think.
MR2
I have just noticed this on the Discogs: This release is not active. Status=Pending This must mean that is hasnt been confirmed on Discogs either, I think someone might be providing dodgy information here. Unless someone else can shed some light on it? The original press had a cat # of MET008 and the repress had a cat # of MET H 008 and came in a picture sleeve. The repress of Pulp Fiction came in a picture sleeve as well, but all cat #'s had changed to the MET H format after #10 anyway - so you can't really tell the difference between the original and the repress (except for the picture sleeve). Ornette
re... Photek - Natural Born Killa EPIt states that this 12" was actually repressed the same year (1996) and the only way you can tell the difference is the repress has a full release sleeve and also the catalogue number in the run out grooves differs from the original i.e. METH008 as opposed to MET008... I thought this 12" originally came out in 1995, mine coming in the 'standard metalheads house sleve' like Phokus described. It's my submission that is pending on Discogs. Are you saying that there were releases of both Pulp Fiction and Natural Born Killa EP with specific custom artwork sleeves, ala Metropolis, Skylab, Terminator 3 and so on? Would really love to see what these look like! please, a quick photo with your mobile will do!!
The_Manipulator
This must mean that is hasnt been confirmed on Discogs either, I think someone might be providing dodgy information here. Some side info: "pending" means it has been submitted, but not yet reviewed. "reviewing" basically means the mods look if all necessary info is submitted, if the cat# fits in with the naming scheme of the label and if there are no typing errors. Submissions are not reviewed on content. Are you saying that there were releases of both Pulp Fiction and Natural Born Killa EP with specific custom artwork sleeves, ala Metropolis, Skylab, Terminator 3 and so on? Would really love to see what these look like! please, a quick photo with your mobile will do!!I've seen Pulp Fiction in an artwork sleeve on E-bay. Forgot what it looked like Here's a pic: http://www.discogs.com/viewimages?what=R&obid=5549

Would really love to see what these look like! please, a quick photo with your mobile will do!! yup, there are. Pulp Fiction was repressed after the falling out with Alex Reece. I believe the original version of Pulp Fiction was witheld from Alex's album, hence the Pulp Friction mix that appears on it. Ornette
That 'artwork' sleeve looks like something 'new' i.e for the repress only (just as R Hawk has stated) Is this the same with the Photek 12" and does anyone have a piccy of that??? Anyone noticed that his name is spelled Reese on that label image, wonder if it was mis-spelled on both presses??
haste
Yup, repress = picture sleeve. Original = Headz house bag
MR2
Ok thanks guys, this seems to clear this one up nicely. Obviously the person who told me the picture sleeves were the first limited pressings of the releases was obviously wrong. Thanks!
