iamdek
I'm assuming the sample comes from here and not from the original Martin Luther King Jr speech ... "And many of us, by the way we act, we even lost our mind" http://www.rolldabeats.com/release/grand_larceny/gl002Vorte-X - Tribal Warfare (Everybody)
The_Manipulator
I still think that if there's nothing "added" it should be credited to the original source, which in this case would be an album with MLK speeches (got it lying around somewhere...). I think most samples (especially beats!!) aren't taken from the original source, but either bootlegs or records that already sample them... Or is this Chuck D saying this? haste
Yeah, I think this should be credited to MLK, not the Public Enemy track. I've been doing this with lots of samples that are obviously off old hip hop tracks (lots of Public Enemy, in fact). There will be a way in which we can add notes to each entry once it's all in the db to inform of the records the actual sample might be from
The_Manipulator
Ok, I'll have my mate dig up the album to get all the info...

haste
As pointed out in this thread and from Google searches this should be attributed to Khalid Abdul Muhammad http://cobb.typepad.com/cobb/2007/04/roots_native_al.html
