With this in mind we would like to welcome the legendary Kyza and DJ Nonames (Foreign Beggars), UK pioneers Stig of the Dump and Dr Syntax, current UK DMC champ (2009) DJ Jeppa, Dubwise Hip-Hop veteran Deadly Hunta and the quirky, funky sounds of Carpetface & Audible to join our old friends Skinnyman, Rodney P and Skitz as part of our Hip-Hop lineup. Bringing the beats live and direct, we have three new live acts to keep your feet moving. True Ingredients are a live music experience you won’t forget. Giving you the best in live UK Hip-Hop with a distinctly old-skool, funk flavour and the man of the moment Kyza also steps into the live arena, having enlisted the musical talents of Focused Few: “a 6 piece hip-hop band” with tour DJ Nonames lacing the cuts for a next level demonstration of live beats and rhymes. Duke Official also join the icon roster with their show-stopping beatbox maestro, live vocals/guitar and an ever evolving live show. Last and by no means least, Icon is proud to announce the arrival of our first Dubstep artists. To kick things off we have up and coming north-eastern beatsmith Funk Ethics and northeast's finest dnb and dubstep MC Aems, master DJs Kryptik Elementz aka Syte and O-Dessa, the deep, dark and dirty sounds of DJ Snipaz, the amazing 3 deck skills of T_!, Manchester’s number one dubstep duo The Steppahs, Hench’s own grimey DJ Blazey and Rinse FM resident Razor Rekta. Dubby Nu-Skool breaks builds gently to a dub breakdown, before dropping into rusko-esque wobbles and ferocious bassline switches. On Remix duties is the one like Mulder, of Urban Takeover fame. His most recent work "The CueBurn EP" has been receiving rave reviews across the nu-rave and breaks scene and his remix is a pounding dubstep meets jungle rework, with massive basslines, broken amens and a pounding 4/4 rhythm. NEW LABEL: METRO BREAKS September 17th sees the launch of a new UK based label concentrating on Jungly/Rave Influenced Breakbeat. Focusing on 135-155 BPM sounds of Hardcore Breaks / Rave Breaks and Jungle Tekno, We aim to bring you the freshest new music from the underground sound thats quickly spreading across the UK and indeed the World! With our promos already being rinsed on numerous stations including NuSkool Breaks, Breakz FM, Kranky Australia, Hardcore Lives, Breakpirates and many more, and with much more in the pipeline this should be one to watch for all those of a breakbeat / dubstep / old skool disposition... Already on board are Sike and Mulder - both doing very well in the breaks scene, with Mulders current EP "Cue Burn" being one of the most anticipated releases in this genre... Our Debut release is "Regenerations" named after the Newcastle old skool event of the same name and the official anthem of said event.
