haste
I've got some... Peshay - Back On The Firm. I'm pretty sure that the "The Blackness" sample is from and old Sounds Of Blackness tune, might even be "Optimistic" but not sure. Anyone got any ideas? This is sampled in a jungle tune...I'm talking about the very first bit of music and the "when we come we come rough" vocal...just a tiny sample that's used once of twice in some tune but I can't quite put my finger on it... http://www.soundquake.com/mp3/85781.mp3 This one's already been listed but I know there are more tunes that have sampled it. The bit I really recognise is the very first thing he says and "whe i ah go use fi defend I self" at 14 seconds or so http://www.rolldabeats.com/audio/samples/d...mmie_mi_gun.mp3 I swear the "12 o' clock natty" bit in this has been used too... http://www.rolldabeats.com/audio/samples/d...oison_flour.mp3

Guest Guest
Anyone know the original tune behind "Gimme my gun"? The sleeve of "Best Dressed Chicken..." credits Gregory Isaacs with "additional vocals" which is surely a euphemism for shameless versioning. Any specific track info? Anyone got any ideas? For reference here's the Sounds of Blackness tune If that's it then I'm pretty sure the sample was repeated on the album that Optimistic was on and was clean on another track

shis77
Anyone know the original tune behind "Gimme my gun"? The sleeve of "Best Dressed Chicken..." credits Gregory Isaacs with "additional vocals" which is surely a euphemism for shameless versioning. Any specific track info? "Best Dressed Chicken In Town" is an album title of a Jamaican reggae DJ named Dr. Alimantado. The Doc is DJ'ing on a Gregory Isaacs track called "Thief A Man" which is also the name of the riddim.
