geist
I read this thread: test003 mispress and weird catalog numbers discussion I too have a mispress of test003, which is supposed to be "Tronik Funk/Thugs" but instead has "Tronik Funk/Weapon of Choice", and carries a catalog # of TESTY003 on both sides I propose that it should get a separate listing, just like other mispresses get separate listings in the database. However, since this mispress also happens to carry a unique catalog # (TESTY003) there's no need to create an artificial catalog # (i.e. what the cat # should be for the official release plus "MP" tagged on the end). What do you think? If we do create a "MP" type catalog #, a search for "TESTY003" should still come up with the same release. also, I noticed that even for non-mispress versions of releases on this label, the actual catalog numbers are NOT always consistent, as currently implied by the database. For example, what rolldabeats lists as catalog # "TEST 005" actually has "TST 5" etched as its catalog # killer tracks, but very aggravating label! thijs
is it me or are three mispresses in a row more of a publicity act than coincidence?
sch_pr
is it me or are three mispresses in a row more of a publicity act than coincidence? if TEST3 Mis-repress is a publicity act, well it's badly done.I prefer finding the original one with "Thugs" in a second-hand shop than buy the mis-repress... caustik
I have "Tronik Funk / Thugs" with "TESTY 003 A-01-01-|" on the "Tronik Funk" side and "TESTY 3 B-1-1-|" on the "Thugs" side...Very confusing indeed!
haste
Think I have these ones edited now. All the labels of Test releases have cat nos with no 0s in them, don't they? We should have the label Cat nos listed as TEST1, TEST2 etc. I don't have any Test releases in the house so not totally sure what the etched cat nos are for all the others. Anyone got them to hand? Ornette
I'm still awaiting confirmation of the TB003 mispress...
caustik
You're correct about the labels, I can check the etchings tomorrow for the ones I have
haste
Cool. I'll wait to hear back before making any changes then. I know the promo sheets had the cat nos listed as TEST00X so when we get round to adding these as release variations I'll add them too
