Anamon
Written by Charles Stepney & Richard James RudolphOriginally performed by Minnie Riperton in 1971Lead vocals on 4hero version: Carina Andersson Will somebody wear me to the fair? (?)Will a lady pin me in her hair? Will a child find me by the stream? (?)Kiss my petals, weave me through a dream. [Chorus]For all of these simple things, and much more, a flower was bornIt blooms to spread love and joy, faith and hope, to people forlorn Inside every man lives the seed of a flowerIf he looks within he finds beauty and power Ring all the bells, sing and tell the people everywhere that the flower has comeLight up the sky with your prayers of gladness and rejoice for the darkness is goneThrow off your fears, let your heart be free, at the sign that a new time is born (?) [Repeat Chorus] Aaah... wonderful, beautiful, uplifting summer favourite for the past 7 summers or so  I couldn't figure out what's in the background during the first 4 lines, and before the second time the chorus repeats...I can only make out single words in the former, while in the latter I think it's possible that there isn't anything to understand at all, considering that it often just degrades to meaningless syllables. haste
What a tune... The missing bits were easier to get from the original Minnie Ripperton version Will somebody wear me to the fair?To the morning see the lovely flower (I think?)Will a lady pin me in her hair? Will a child find me by the stream? Will you let me in the sunbeam showerKiss my petals, weave me through a dream. [Chorus]For all of these simple things, and much more, a flower was bornIt blooms to spread love and joy, faith and hope, to people forlorn Inside every man lives the seed of a flowerIf he looks within he finds beauty and power Ring all the bells, sing and tell the people everywhere that the flower has comeLight up the sky with your prayers of gladness and rejoice for the darkness is goneThrow off your fears, let your heart be free, at the sign that a new time is born (?)
