    Vision 1992

Been doing some digging on this. Mickey Finn was on the line up at The Edge on both 9th & 30th October. His set at Psychosis - Timeslip (17th October) is most similar in terms of tune selection, so is his set on Green Apple which sounds like it’s from the end of October. If the Grooverider tape was released at end of September, it may have been released first to see how well it sold then the Seduction tape may have been released on the back of this a month later. I don’t remember ever seeing the Grooverider tape bitd, only knew of its existence about 20 years later but I had the original Seduction tape & also a copy of the Ellis Dee tape. No idea when the Ellis Dee tape was released either as that was from June so months before its proposed date of Vision at the end of August. The other odd thing is why the Mickey Finn tape wasn’t released by The Edge themselves as other sets from these potential dates made it to tape. Not sure we’ll ever find out the exact info.
  2. Not seen that before, thought it might be this one. The plot thickens.
  3. I can post the link on the Madisons Facebook group when you upload it to see if anyone else can shed any light on the exact date. Presumably it’s the yellow cover with Techno & Hardcore Masters on it? Odd that it has no month on the label as all the other tapes seem to.
  4. Been looking at the flyers & found this from October 93 from the Kitchen Krew who ran the upstairs room on Friday nights. https://www.phatmedia.co.uk/flyers/event/kitchen-krew-1993-bumpin-house-garage-1993 Looks like Dave Angel was Saturday 16th as Dave Seaman was playing downstairs on Friday 15th. This would suggest Dave Angel was a Hard & Fast night as they were on Saturdays or the occasional Wednesdays. We went to the Fabio night on Friday 22nd too as he was playing house upstairs. This definitely wasn’t the same night as Dave Angel. Saw Fabio, Grooverider & LTJ Bukem all play house sets in late 93 / early 94 upstairs at Madisons. The kids would never believe it these days. Only potential Carl Cox night in October would have been Saturday 2nd.
  5. Don’t think so as we’d have gone to it. He played at Electric Kingdom on 30th August which we missed. We went to Sy on 5th November & Dave Seaman on 12th November so there was only a couple of weeks between Dave Angel & Sy. First time I saw Carl Cox at Madisons was 4th April 94, again at Electric Kingdom.
  6. Dave Angel played on either 15th or 22nd October 1993 though I can’t remember if it was a Hard & Fast night. I’m pretty sure it was the week after DJ SS played on 8th October as I went to both.

  11. I’ve always had a theory that Gideon Dawson used to sort out the tape releases for Fantazia & knew exactly what he was doing. After he left it went downhill in terms of accuracy. Whoever was releasing the CD’s on Fantazia’s website about 15 years ago definitely had no idea, which is why we took so long figuring out who actually DJ’d at Fantazia NYE92/93.
  12. Never seen or heard any copy. This was the same night as Summer Dance Fest with some DJ’s playing at both events. Always interesting to see the different sets played on the same night by the same DJ’s.
  13. That’s the one. Not sure if it was ever released but there’s always hope as it was an Adrenalin night.
