nebkins
Now after speaking to JJ and a few other people the sets that were released by Vision for their August rave at Popham Airfield seem to be mixes from other events that were passed off on proper printed Vision tapes. Tapes released Grooverider (Unknown DJ not Grooverider)Ellis DeeDJ Seduction (This is a Mickey Finn Edge tape from lateish 1992)

R-Hawk
So, does this mean that the Grooverider set is or isn't from the Vision party at Popham airfield? Ta
nebkins
Definitely not from Popham as no audio survived.
Ian_s
Definitely not from Popham as no audio survived. All the tapes and recording equipment probably got too wet
Thrash
The Ellis Dee set released was Carl Cox Live @ The Eclipse 13. Interesting how the 3 tapes span about 5 months from Carl Cox (June) to Mickey Finn (late October) & nobody noticed at the time.
mindthegap
Has it ever been established where the Rider set comes from (and indeed if its him?)
mersa
I bought the Grooverider set at the time of release late September and never released it wasn’t recorded from the event or even it wasn’t Grooverider himself, I actually loved that tape, it was 20 years after when I found out that the dat recording equipment was ruined and not a single set was recorded, apparently the Grooverider tape was actually recorded by an unknown dj at the eclipse around August, what I don’t get is how the so called seduction tape is actually a Micky Finn recording from October I definitely remember buying my Grooverider tape in September
Thrash
Been doing some digging on this. Mickey Finn was on the line up at The Edge on both 9th & 30th October. His set at Psychosis - Timeslip (17th October) is most similar in terms of tune selection, so is his set on Green Apple which sounds like it’s from the end of October. If the Grooverider tape was released at end of September, it may have been released first to see how well it sold then the Seduction tape may have been released on the back of this a month later. I don’t remember ever seeing the Grooverider tape bitd, only knew of its existence about 20 years later but I had the original Seduction tape & also a copy of the Ellis Dee tape. No idea when the Ellis Dee tape was released either as that was from June so months before its proposed date of Vision at the end of August. The other odd thing is why the Mickey Finn tape wasn’t released by The Edge themselves as other sets from these potential dates made it to tape. Not sure we’ll ever find out the exact info.
