ever thought about setting up images of the labels and/or sleeve art of records? this is obviously something that would have to happen a long time from now, but it would be neat to see. it's too bad that requires a lot of bandwidth and server space. the guys at www.lowerdepths.com made good use of this. some day!

the images that are used at the moment are high quality jpg's with a width of 400 pixels (the height ends up being about the same). i'll try to get a list of the releases which have a scan already, but not sure how yet.. i'll keep ya updated.
thanks a million for the offer though

i'm trying to find a scsi pci card for my pc, but i'm having awful luck. otherwise i can't use my scanner with any efficiency.
it's currently hooked up to my old mac, which is way too slow. hopefully i should get this sorted out soon, so i can start scanning!

update: i just hooked up the scanner and scanning is under way!
*edit: i just tried to make a 'composite' image of a full 12 x 12 cover. it looked awful, and because my scanner isn't big enough, i'd have to make 3 passes to make a full composite. i'm just going to scan the records with no cover art for now.

hehe.. thanks in advance (yes.. again ). i have been looking for a scanner myself actually. and came across the problem you seem to be having right now. does anyone know whether there are scanners which can scan a 12" cover in one go? and maybe even more important.. are the affordable?

i knew that i'd have to do some graphic acrobatics, but taking 3 scans and joining them is beyond my skill. i can do it but it looks like garbage. as far as the label scans go - should i not bother scanning record labels on releases that have a picture sleeve?
