Title: Q.E.D.: GLIMPSES OF DEATH

Year: 1988

Synopsis: Dr Peter Fenwick, an expert in brain function, has made a special study of `near death experiences'. He considers whether they are hallucinations, true glimpses of the after-life, or evidence of a new dimension of human consciousness.

The sample is from a woman named Barbara who had a near-death experience while she was in labour.

We now return you to Ornette's original post...

==================================

is this not already here?

**APPARENTLY**

This was some tv program from 1992 [?] about near-death experiences.

(Q.E.D. used to be a sort of science program, like Horizon...)

"...it felt as though it was this long dark tunnel, with a very bright light at the end, so brilliant, it was more brilliant than the sun..."

and "They speak of strange experiences, some of which appear to defy scientific explanation." :wub:

I have wondered for years weather that is from the same q.e.d program or not as it does sound different to everything else but having never seen the program I can't officiate or deny if it's from that or not. but I can tell "it seems quite natural" is from that program as it sounds like the same woman in the original mix

Some info from the bells listing:

Where did you get the 'long dark tunnel' sample from?

It was from a QED documentary on the BBC about near-death experiences. It's from a woman named Barbara. She had a near-death experience while she was in labour. She found about the tune, because her daughter was listening to Kiss FM around '96, heard it, and told her mum that she was on some hardcore record. She didn't mind at all. She wrote us a really, really nice letter telling us all about her experience.

And Theorie came up with this link: http://ftvdb.bfi.org.uk/sift/title/420875

Pointless story alert: I saw this QED documentary in 1993 in a religious studies lesson at secondary school... when the "long dark tunnel" bit was spoken, me and three other people looked at each other with big grins on our faces. We were the only people in our class that listened to 'hardcore' (as it was called back then) and, of course, valley of the shadows was being rinsed on all the local pirate radio stations at the time. Heh.
