The members of this are not the Iration Steppers. It's two London guys...

http://www.rolldabeats.com/artist/psycho

and the artist on this one

http://www.rolldabeats.com/artist/naughty_trax

Which is not Naughty Trax, it's actually Naughty Naughty (nothing to do with the label of the same name). The 12" title shold be Naughty Trax

From Dara...

"Early 90's hardcore and jungle duo, Naughty Naughty & Psycho who had several releases on the classic Rugged Vinyl label in 1992 & 1993. Their final release was Rugged Vinyl #10 in 1994 . Naughty Naughty had one solo release on Rugged Vinyl, also in 1994.

S.M.F. stood for Stiff Middle Finger, Small Medium Fries & Serious Mo'Fo's, changing from release to release."

As for Iration steppers...

Mark Iration & Dennis Rootical are almost certainly not their real names

I would sa it got released in 93 but I do have a ratty tape from obsession oct 92 playing the b side but that probably was a dubplate knowing him.

Ach. The thing is sometimes I listen I think - thats a 95 press!

But Ratty playing in 1992... well well well! Which side - the "Marked For Death" side (not so good) or the "Jungle jungle" side? (my choice!)

Guest Steve J

Back in Don days, the guys used to say it stood for Still Middle Finder, but then it kept changing.

Just to add whats already known, I spoke to Ben James a while back and SMF doesn't exist - at least some tracks were made for it, but never got anywhere near metalwork, TP's, etc. SMF3 ended up with some of the tracks destined for SMF2 as far as I understood.

smf = J Verrall, P Hudson, and J Ataneme

(from the label of rugged10)

How they break down into Naughty Naughty and Psycho, I don't know :(

From the drumnbassworldwide links, above, Naughty Naughty's first name was Jules, but that could be one of two guys...

Hmm interesting! Have a look at whats popped up on Discogs!

http://www.discogs.com/SMF-Volume-2/release/1167082

"Track 2 side A has "DJ NAUGHTY NAUGHTY + DJ PSYCHO IN FULL EFFECT BOYEEEE" etched through the middle of it & track 1 side 2 has "ONE GOD ONE LOVE ONE INITY PEACE TO ALL JAH CHILDREN" "NORTH SOUTH EAST WEST RESPECT" "JASON JULES = INGRIDIENIS" "CLIVE IS IN THE BACKGROUND" etched in the middle of it."

 !

Tell me about it - when I spoke to Ben he didn't even think it existed!!! :o

Gonna try and bell him soon as I think that's him that's submitted it to discogs!

I think its safe to say we're only looking at a couple of TP's in existence at the most but I wanna hear more!!

Also, although not SMF related but Rugged Vinyl (hope haste and logic can forgive me for posting here in this thread....!!)

I'm trying to get more information about this too:

http://www.discogs.com/Unknown-Artist-Unknown-Title/release/1660942

If you look at the history, this was initially submitted as a double-sider, but it's now been changed to a single-sider

Now, as far as I was aware, RUGGED 5 was scheduled to be an early version of DOPE - Travelling, but was shelved and eventually found it's way onto GLR. Now, whether this is turns out to be some very rare TP of either the version that finally did appear on GLR, or even an earlier version we'll just have to see!!! Again. Ben seemed to indicate that RUGGED 5 itself was shelved :o

DJ-Producers and label owners never ever seem to know what they've actually wrote or put out half the time!!!
