It is about one of the finest tunes ever to grace the drum & bass scene! Where can I start! that bassline, that held string, the chords, cuh! This is definitely from Dillinja's golden period - 1994 - that year was a real harvest for him. I think Dillinja had a second golden period, 1996, but many of those tunes never came out. I'm talking about the likes of Capone's "Paradise" & "Friday", "Deadly Deep Subs (VIP)", "Violent Killa", "Still Waters". But what about "All Means Necessary"? Or "Fusion (1996 dubplate)"? I think that many of these tunes from this period were developed for his album that he got signed to do in 1995 (?) but unfortunately it got put back & put back and unfortunately some of these are unlikely to see the light of day. I was never too impressed with his experimental Test material but there you go. (Although "So Damn Tough" was excellent. Talking of which, is it me, or is Maximum Style's "Hard As Hell" dated back to 1994??? pretty certain I heard it on a DJ Randall show in 1994 saying it was a forthcoming Tom & Jerry... unreleased tunes? i'll get round to sticking em in the unreleased section eventually... til then... Deffo, just got hold of a copy of this finally - mint too @ ?20 what a steal I reckon!!! I'm not sure about this listing at all for Suburban Knights. Its got it as being James Pennington, London. James Pennington is the legendary Suburban Knight (not Knights), and has recorded the last 15 years on Transmat, UR and Peacefrog - practically all techno and acid stuff. He's also from Detroit. I've not at all convinced he's in anyway linked to Suburban Knight - I still think this is a Dillinja-moniker. I've bunged an email off to Valve/Lemon D in the hope I might get an answer!! I was a bargain box kinda guy... But sometime later (1998?) I picked up another copy... probably for ?4... The tune was so good I had to buy it twice! Thats from the days you could go to Reckless, or Beanos and buy all these kinda tunes for chump change. They didn't know anything about it then, did they.
