Ornette
http://www.jetstar.co.uk/uploads/images/DSCD1.jpgVarious Artists - The Best Of Desert Storm: Live Jungle Well. It probably seems that this thread should've been put in the 'Releases' forum, but before it can, some serious work in this forum needs to be done. This album is a tad perplexing. Although listed in the database here, the vinyl edition just doesn't seem to correspond to the CD release. A rather unusual format for an album, rather than consisting of individual tracks it is built up of 'moments' from various Desert Storm events from during 1994, which (quite expertly) capture the vibe and feel of the jungle scene and the context in which these tunes come alive. Here's the thing: none of the tracks have proper track details! Each one is simply labelled with the name of the DJ performing the set (see here). In addition I understand many of the tunes contained here are otherwise unreleased dubplates - such as "The Burial (amen mix)" previously mentioned by Haste and the "..short motherfuckers betta have your I.D.'s..." tune that was previously posted as one of Logic's Boatload of '93-'95 jungle IDs. And... not only that, but many of the tracks are mixture of 2 or even 3 different tunes! Let me break it down: CD 1 1. DJ Brockie feat. MC Dett Mendoza - "I dont wanna be somebody's accident" (1994 remix) An unreleased tune? I have the original - from 1992 (?) but I can't remember the cat #. There were no track details on my copy - just a double sided 'Mendoza' logo. 2. DJ Ron feat. MC 5-0 Jo - R-Type Nut Nut - The Rumble Boogie Times Tribe - Dark Stranger pt III 3. Darren Jay feat. MC 5-0, & MC Navigator Engineers Without Fears - Spiritual Aura 4. Jumping Jack Frost feat. MC Moose (a Potential Bad Boy tune?) - ("...you short motherfuckers betta have your ID...") Shy FX feat. Gunsmoke - Gangsta Kid Pretty sure that's P.B.B. - cause it's quite similar to Potential Bad Boy feat. MC Det - Rollin' . On the other hand, it also sounds a little like Shy FX - Nasty ... so... 5. Mickey Finn feat. MC 5-0, MC Moose & MC Navigator Urban Shakedown feat. DBO General - Calling The People/Arsonist (Mickey Finn Special) Well... this is certainly not released. A combination of the two tracks "Calling The People" and "Arsonist" it also features the sung female lyrics "...Micky Finn the DJ.."etc 6. DJ Randall feat. MC Moose & MC Navigator (@Roller, Saxon Sound) Renk Cru - Passing Me By Noise Of Art - Rollin' Deep (Smokey Joe Remix) DJ Rap - Digable Bass 7. Grooverider feat. MC 5-0, MC Navigator, Flinty Badman & Deman Rocker Renegade - Something I Feel Noise Of Art - Rollin' Deep Kings Of The Jungle - Lovable 8. Brockie feat. MC Dett (@Return Of The Gods?) (unknown) - ("ooh baby"/"Jungle") (unknown) - ("...bay-yeh...") Another unreleased tune - is this the "Junglistic Experience (Remix)" that was mentioned by Haste in the Unreleased Dubplates forum? As for the second tune... well if ANYONE has ANY info on this tune WHATSOEVER then I am begging to HEAR ALL ABOUT IT!!!! About my MOST-WANTED tune id EVER, I am pretty sure it was released sometime mid 1993, as I have it a number of times on tapes from perhaps July 93 to March/April 1994. I once called up Kool F.M. to demand a reel-out - but I was just too slow on the phone.... oh well! HOWEVER - they did give me some details about it being the Long Storm E.P. on Royal Dance Records or something, but as I haven't been able to match any corresponding details in the RDB database, or anywhere else for that matter, I really just don't know! 9. Darren Jay feat. MC 5-0, MC Navigator & MC Moose Blackstar - Champion DJ Trinity - Gangsta The CD says that this is DJ Ron on this track - I was sure from listening that it was Darren Jay though. Maybe I have got it wrong - any one else confirm? 10. Darren Jay feat. MC 5-0 Urban Shakedown feat. DBO General - Some Justice '95 / Arsonist (Darren Jay Special) Another mutated version of "Arsonist" - this time combined with "Some Justice '95" - an unreleased dubplate I assume? 11. Darren Jay feat. MC 5-0, MC Moose & Navigator Tom & Jarry - Maxi(mun) Style Part 2 12. Jumping Jack Frost feat. MC 5-0, MC Navigator Leviticus - The Burial (Some amen styled remix) Brainkillers - Scarface The unreleased 'amen' mix of "The Burial"? 13. Jumping Jack Frost feat. MC Dett Roni Size - It's A Jazz Thing Peshay - The Vocal Tune 14. Mickey Finn feat. MC 5-0 MC Navigator & MC Moose (@Bagleys) Prizna feat. Demoltion Man - Fire 15. Mickey Finn feat. MC 5-0 MC Navigator (last tune of the night???) Nut Nut - Special Dedication 16. Grooverider feat. MC Moose (unknown) - ("...i don't want to be...") Tom & Jerry - Maxi(mun) Style Part 1 Right - who can ID this track then? I do know it, I have always known it... I have even always had this unconscious assumption that it is a Grooverider tune but I don't know why I think that... it does seem to have his mark over it though. It's a very powerful tune and I seem to remember it being played on Kool F.M. pretty often over the latter half of summer 1994. Unreleased? 17. Grooverider feat. MC 5-0 DMS & Boneman X - Sweet Vibrations The Dream Team - Over You [a.k.a. "Yeh Man (Original Mix)"] Krome & Time - The Licence 18. DJ Randall feat. ??? 19. DJ Randall feat. ??? Apparently this CD has 19 tracks on it but the copy my friend let me have doesn't seem to have these two on it. So no idea what they contain. Anyone else? CD 2 In addition, I haven't got my hands on the second CD as yet but will have to go pester my mate for the other one again... funny especially as this was the actual disc out of the two that I wanted to hear! Hopefully anyone else can fill in the blanks here? After all, this is why I put it in the Tune ID section..! 1. DARREN JAY2. DARREN JAY3. DJ RANDALL4. DJ BROCKIE5. DJ BROCKIE6. JUMPING JACK FROST7. DARREN JAY8. DARREN JAY9. JUMPING JACK FROST10. DJ RANDALL11. DJ RANDALL12. GROOVERIDER13. GROOVERIDER14. JUMPING JACK FROST15. DJ BROCKIE As I mentioned above, this album is quite perplexing and hopefully we can get the tracklisting for this 100% accurate & confirmed. Maybe someone else can advise on the differences/similarities between the CD and the vinyl editions (is there a tape edition?). Thanks, laters! Logic
Thanks for all the hard work listing that stuff out -- it's going to be a nightmare trying to figure out a way to list this CD properly (if we even want to try!) I don't have the CD so I can't really help on IDing the tunes. I would need some soundclips to work them out

Dj Randall, MC Det & 5-0 Gappa G and Hyper Hyper - Information Centre (remix) http://www.rolldabeats.com/release/ruff_kut/rk2<{POST_SNAPBACK}>Haste, are you sure it's this one? If Rav is saying they say "it's the 3rd one" then it could be from the other remixes release. Particularily the DJ Ron mix - that was the one they all loved to play. I see the database puts it as the 2nd mix, but if I remember right the labels were stuck on the vinyls incorrectly!

Starts with some ascending beeps and the full vocal on its own. Drops into a kinda disjointed drum pattern and gets the rewind straight away. Mixes into Renegade Snares from what I can remember
