R-Hawk
Have just won a copy of 24K 002 on ebay (Skan - Sizeable respect EP) and the seller reckons that it is Roni Size & DJ Die. Can anyone confirm or deny this? May know more once I get to see the vinyl.
Logic
I've got the vinyl and I don't see any way we can conclusively say it's Roni & Die. I think the reason the seller is saying that (I saw the auction) is because the tune "Sorry" on that release sounds nearly identical to Music Box (same break, some of the same samples, slightly diff. break sequence). This happened all the time in Jungle, though, especially on smaller labels like 24 Karat. I think it's just a producer ripping off a huge tune, not Roni & Die themselves. R-Hawk
I guess it could be because of the word "sizeable" in the title as well, kind of reminiscent of the way Roni named his early EPs on V Recs. I did question the seller, but they never replied - guess they must have thought it was a good selling point but couldn't prove it!!! What are the tracks like anyway? Logic
I wrote the above while at work, now I'm at home and I have the 12" in front of me. On the label it says: 'spect to R size, Crust & Die. All tracks written by SKAN. This would seem to suggest that the V crew didn't produce the tracks. As far as how they are, they're excellent. I play Not Sorry all the time -- it used to be a DJ Ron fav back in '94. Heavy hitting bass and very jungly.
haste
Pretty sure these aren't by any of the V crew, just a big rip off of Music Box as Logic has said. Never believe eBay auctions!!

Ornette
Although a 'rip-off', it has more than enough merit to justify its existance. "Sorry" is a bloody good 'remix' of Music Box and thats for sure. Far better than the official remix. Differences: the bassline is back-to-front (i think), the "come on" of the original is in reverse, an extra break drops in staccato style in various sections, the main break is chopped up a bit in sections, and then (the best bit) it rolls out with a subdued amen for a bit. "Not Sorry" is also very very good, no rip off at all a full tune in its own right. ALTHOUGH it is reminiscent somewhat of Flatliner's "No Boundaries" on Ram Records... (I think thats the tune I mean...) Now someone, lets have some talk about 24k001. Desperately after this one.

Ornette
All sources I've seen don't know what it is, or if it exists. Even oldskooldiscogs.com lists it as ? It is a three tracker with a sample from the film "Last Boy Scout" where it goes"Excuse me is there a problem? yes officer I bleive there is. It appears there are too many bullets in this gun..." (gunshots)Also has the sample "Dibi dibi DJ you know me a dett some of them a worry nuff a dem a fret" ala Cutty Ranks and the B-side has a interesting hip hop speed insturmental thing thats not really hip hop sounding at all - rather it is slow D'n'b. I will specially do a sound clip of this I will have to go and get my 1994 tapes out of storage for this... because the lack of info on this release is doing my nut!!!! Ornette
Hmmm. The tune is defo a 1994 tune and that has a 1995 release date given to it... Is there a slow tempo hip hop thing on the B-side? The one I'm thinking of does. Possibly this tune is a reissue, with 24k001 being the original release

Ornette
Can anyone tell me why this tune appears on the No U Turn site listed as NKS - Bass Stop?? http://nouturnrecords.ithinkmusic.com/my-store/detail.php?page=LR&r=5217
