Any action on the Goldie/Metalheads/Ruffige Kru stuff, Thijs?

Or any comments on the suggestions, Haste?

like the currently updated congo natty thread. will need some serious thinking over these before changes are made. info will def. be used though. just not really sure how to handle these correctly. it's either sticking to what is stated on the cover (of the timeless lp for instance), or put in what it should be (knowing what came out before and credited to who). things can be said about both.

Yeah, I agree with Thijs to hold off on making any of these updates for a while.

This thread is going to get very confusing and I am concerned at changing too many track names in the db to what is not printed on the labels. I agree that it is good to get everything looking nice but sometimes I feel like we might be taking things a little too far which could just end up confusing things a bit more than is really necessary

Right, simple 'duplicate' corrections, only, now.

DJ Ron - African Chant (Bass Raiders - BAZZCD1)
DJ Ron - African Chant (London Some'ting - LS004)
DJ Ron - African Chant (No Frills - NOFRILLS003)

Think these should all be titled:  Mo Musik (African Chant Mix)

DJ Ron - African Chant (2003 Remix) (No Frills - NOFRILLS003)
DJ Ron - African Chant (VIP Mix) (Champagne Bash - BASHLP1)
DJ Ron - African Chant (VIP Mix) (Champagne Bash - BASHCD1)

Change to Mo Musik (2003 Remix) & (VIP Mix) respectively

DJ Ron - Mo Musik (Breakdown - BDRLP003)
DJ Ron - Mo Musik (Breakdown - BDRCD003)

Likely that this is the "African Chant Mix" mix of Mo Music.
Just giving it a listen now...
          ...phew! what an anthem!

Formatt  -  Altered State (Remix)

Should be changed to

Lovebyte  -  Altered State

Same tune, no remix or anything, just the same.  Oh and Lovebyte should be Love Byte.  Oh and the other Formatt track on the album - needs to have changed artist to Format http://www.rolldabeats.com/artist/format - yep

Disagree.  Wasn't the original 12" title "Horny Mutant Jazz"

"Mutant Revisted" is the original title, but arn't we striving for consistancy, when we know that it is a further remix of "Horny Mutant Jazz"?

Otherwise, don't you think it should be retitled to "Mutationz" to concile with the other 100's of re-remixes?

Original should definitely be Horny Mutant Jazz.

If anything, the first trace remix should be called Horny Mutant Jazz (Rollers Instinct remix). After that, it kind of lost any connection with T Power - it had changed so much that it was pretty much Trace's tune by then.

I checked on my vinyl and it just said "Mutant Jazz", I had thought that it was called "Horny Mutant Jazz" as well but it appears that it's not!!

I didn't get into the whole renaming thing of the Trace remixes but, yeah, I think it might be fair enough to at least name the remix on Emotif - Mutant Jazz (DJ Trace Mutant Revisited Remix) or something like that?

Like Phokus said, though, it could just as easily be left as it is as it was pretty much a different tune by then

edit: Pic of the label from discogs

These really should be listed as "Gonna be Alright" as the track name. I don't know whether to change this or not as the first track on the LP is exactly the same as http://www.rolldabeats.com/release/reinforced/rivet1239
To carry on from this...

http://www.rolldabeats.com/artist/cloud_9

The following releases should be the Nookie remix of Gonna Be Alright, not the original mix

http://www.rolldabeats.com/release/reinforced/rivetlp05
http://www.rolldabeats.com/release/reinforced/rivetcd05
http://www.rolldabeats.com/release/selector/sel05
(first track Nookie mix, last track Foul Play mix)

http://www.rolldabeats.com/release/ratio_records/mdcd001
http://www.rolldabeats.com/release/the_que_club/quest9394
http://www.rolldabeats.com/release/jungle_techno/4am001
http://www.rolldabeats.com/release/reinforced/rivetcd21

The only ones that should have the original mix on are these ones

http://www.rolldabeats.com/release/white_label/cloud2
http://www.rolldabeats.com/release/vinyl_connection/vcon1

JKSUBCD6   The Dream Team   Throat   1997
BDRCD020 The Dream Team Throat (VIP Mix) 1997
BDRLP020 The Dream Team Throat (VIP Mix)

Should be changed to

The Dream Team  - Let Me Clear My Throat

--------------------------------------

JOKER12   The Dream Team   The Menace

Same track as

MILL039CD   Dynamic Duo   Menace (Ray Keith Remix)   1996
JOKER21 Dynamic Duo Menace (Ray Keith Remix)

Change artist to "Dream Team" and track to "The Menace"

--------------------------------------

Bizzy B - 16 Track Ting (The Dream Team Re-Lick) (Brain - BRC30)
Bizzy B - 16 Track Ting (The Dream Team Remix) (Breakdown - BDRLP011)
Bizzy B - 16 Track Ting (The Dream Team Remix) (Breakdown - BDRCD011)
Bizzy B - 16 Track Ting (The Dream Team Remix) (Joker - JOKER56)
The Dream Team - 16 Track Ting (Remix) (Suburban Base U.S.A. - SB86006-2) [mixed]

Last one needs changing to look like the others

--------------------------------------

BDRCD018   Dynamic Duo   Dogstoppa   1996
JOKER17 Dynamic Duo & DJ Kane Dogstoppa

Both should have Kane on them

--------------------------------------

SB1030-2   The Dream Team   Files   1996
SUBBASECD4 The Dream Team Files

Should be

The Dream Team - X-Files

--------------------------------------

BDRLP011   Dynamic Duo   Rollin' Numbers (Dynamic Duo VIP Mix)   1994
BDRCD011 Dynamic Duo Rollin' Numbers (Dynamic Duo VIP Mix) 1994
SB86006-2 Dynamic Duo Rolling Number (VIP Mix)

Artist should be Dream Team in all cases. Last one Rolling = Rollin'

--------------------------------------

SB86006-2   Dynamic Duo   The Ride (Rollers Mix)

Artist should be Dream Team. No idea which mix it is, probably the first remix

--------------------------------------

This is incorrect...

JKSUBLP6   The Dream Team   Coast To Coast (JB VIP Mix)   1997
JKSUBCD6 The Dream Team Coast To Coast (JB VIP Mix)

Should be

The Dream Team - East Coast (JB VIP Mix)
