eXtreme
i've only got part 2 & the links down for part 1  so, to clarify : http://www.hardscore.com/godfather.mp3
thijs
my copy has 'smokey joe' written on it. only even read its by Rampage in the database. ?? changed it to smokey joe. can't remember where the rampage info got from...
haste
so, to clarify :http://www.hardscore.com/godfather.mp3that's the one... http://www.apu.edu/imt/images/gc/heart3a-big.gif although there is something strange about that version. the vocals aren't the ones from the film, they've been re-said or at least are different from the original smokey joe version's ones. there are also slight differences in the track structure (it's a bit shorter between drops) and some of the vocals are actually missing very strange but probably done for copyright reasons, just like some versions of super sharp shooter were (on the dnb selection albums etc). we should probably make a note of this in the notes field
The_Manipulator
my copy has 'smokey joe' written on it. only even read its by Rampage in the database. ?? changed it to smokey joe. can't remember where the rampage info got from... Well, that has to be me! The sticker on the white label's sleeve clearly states that it's the sampler for the "Priority One" album by "Rampage". The sampler doesn't have much other info (Anyone has that Priority One album??). And there are 2 versions due to copyright reasons... But the clip seems to be from the sampler I've got. So just change it back to Rampage... unless I get a good reason (as in an official copy, not handwritten!!!) to have it listed as Smokey Joe... But maybe on the album itself they have it as "featuring Smokey Joe" or something... The Smokey Joe link could be attributed to that fact that everything is either mixed by Smokey Joe (or his brother) or at least recorded in their studio! Will scan the cover if I get the chance... haste
it's by smokey joe, not rampage 100%
eXtreme
it could be possible that the other 3 tracks are by rampage & just this track is by smokey joe? but, all tracks do have the smokey joe sound .. But, wouldn't be the first time another artist appears on someone elses album? and yeah its just hand written, but Boogie Times had their finger on the pulse back then, they wouldn't have labeled it wrong i dont think.
The_Manipulator
Okay... here we go. First of all: add both Joe and Toby as members of the Rampage crew. Not just Matt Fletcher and Mike Anthony. The label indicates that it's at least Mike Anthony. "Smoking Studios" indicates probably Smokey Joe and/or Toby. But I'd say to add Joe and Toby to Rampage and just change the tune back to Rampage. http://tarzan.spoox.org/picture.php?type=r...release&id=3426
thijs
hmm.. for the record: is it Tobi or Toby? seen both now :?

Ornette
Check out my post on the whole album RDB Forum > Additions & Corrections > Releases > Rampage - Priority One, Full album details!!! Let the controversy rage on!
haste
Right, this is an old one...I was slightly wrong here! It is by Rampage but I think the thing is that Smokey Joe engineered it for them and it's basically his tune but obviously came out under the Rampage name. I would have thought that it would be better to have him down as the engineer of this release, rather than part of Rampage but as we have no real way of displaying that info at the moment then I think we should leave it as it is
The_Manipulator
Can somebody verify writer credits on the album? As the sampler doesn't have them and only lists producer credits...
Ornette
Can somebody verify writer credits on the album? As the sampler doesn't have them and only lists producer credits... Will dig it out along with full member details for Rampage. Right, I'm certain the "Give Me A Dubplate" track, remix of "Mash Dem Down", already came out on No Smoking. http://www.rolldabeats.com/release/no_smoking/smoke07 ? Ornette
http://www.rolldabeats.com/release/almo_so...12almoslp005pr1 Cat. number should actually read 12ALMODLP005PR1However this only appears on the label affixed to outer sleeve. Etched cat numbers are - A side: ALMODLP 005 PRIB side: ALMODLP 005 B2 perhaps ALMODLP005PRI as main entry and 12ALMODLP005PR1 as alias? Note: The b side etching differs to the full album's b side, which reads ALMODLP005B1... - - - - - As per the album - B1. should credit to Rampage & Smokey Joe, B2. should credit to Smokin' Studios(ref: http://www.rolldabeats.com/forum/index.php...st&p=72962)
