theorie
I've seen writing credits go to James Brown on this song. So I think ( ) that it is James Brown going 'woo, yeah'.
haste
Yeah, it's James Brown doing all the little vocals - "you're bad sister" etc

theorie
what part of the song is the hiccupey sounding thing from? (as used extensivly in Rollidge VIP mix) I've isolated the drum break, but what ever vocal makes that sound isn't in there.

Ornette
Just to post we've still to work out the source for the oft-used think variants, most recognisably used in Valley Of The Shadows. Here's a couple of clean clips:THINK.WAVvalley1.wavvalley2.wav

Here's a couple of clean clips:THINK.WAVvalley1.wavvalley2.wavI could of sworn I heard those very breaks for the 1st issue sample cd from Futuremusic. Just like the wierd bell sequence used in the same tune. I'll check again, but that will leave me thinking, where did futuremusic get it. stenny
where did futuremusic get it. This ---> http://www.synthmania.com/the_x-static_goldmine.htm The Future Music cover CDs used to use a lot of samples that were already available on commercial sample CDs. Also, a lot of the breakbeat loops on X-Static Goldmine I've recognised being sampled from late 80s and very early 90s hip hop and house tunes. Maybe there's a clue there but I'm still searching for the original source of that think break to this very day - it's proving more difficult to find than the 'sandy' break! massiv
Can we get a little more info on process used to make this sample into a jungle break?(for the newbies such as myself) for example:I found a clip onhttp://www.junglebreaks.co.uk/ http://www.junglebreaks.co.uk/listen/think--badsister.wav which is the sped up break they also post the original source in 5 parts:http://www.junglebreaks.co.uk/breaks/think--all5.wav Using Propellerheads Recycle I separated the individual parts and sent it into Reason to play on the Dr. Rex loop player.Upping the tempo and transposing it into a higher key has given me somewhat the desired effect, but I still cant get it to sound exactly like I would want.(As the example they posted sounds) What part or parts are they using in the example? How much is the tempo/ key changed and are there any other effects being added to get that fast, squeaky sound? If any experienced producers can give info on what they do to get the desired effect on that break, it would be greatly appreciated. Ornette
Massiv, Thats the 4th loop being used & I think all you need to do is play at higher key which makes faster & increases pitch. That example you gave may have then been 'time stretched' down slightly to give lower pitch, and its also mono. Most people who use that 4th loop normally kill after the 4th beat avoiding that squeek at the end... that particular example you posted sounds very familar though, i'm thinking a Frontline record maybe
jacky6666
I've got a really old question that hasn't been solved for years.I wonder who was the guy that sang the words "Too bad"I'd like to get a list of songs that have a sample loop of these 2 wordsSome said that was James Brown, but there was simply a younger voice in the middle of it, wonder who the guy was?ThanksJack
Sonars Ghost
I think in a room full of soulful brothers with a drummer getting down in the 70's, I'm not sure anyone was noting who did what howl when. Unless you interview someone that was there, you may have to let that one slide...
