Side A: "WE STARTED 2 MAKE THIS MUSIC B4 THE WORD DNBWAS INVENTED SO WE KNOW WHAT WERE TALKING ABOUT"

I wrote it out as it was written on the etching, including the tyos ("DNBWAS" and "WERE"). Then also in a separate line on the same side it says

"[WOBBLE WOBBLE...] HMMM... NAH MAN I AIN'T INNIT... YOU CAN CATCH ME IN THE GROWN UP ROOM. YEH!"

... btw I just wanted to mention, and I wanted to see if anyone else feels the same, that Paradox can really get on my nerves and come across as being quite full of himself. I understand that he's critical of other aspects of dnb, and frankly I think the criticisms are often justified, but he really does fail to see what can be good about other kinds of dnb. He's also got this "I'm the godfather of dnb" complex that Goldie and Grooverider also seem to share. He's got great releases of course, but you know what? A lot of other producers have great releases too and he doesn't stand out that much ahead of a fair smattering of other names, imo. I've seen Paradox live, read interviews, even talked to him and he's a good/nice enough guy but he does need to get off of his high horse, imo. As great as this music is (I know people will disagree with me on this) it's still in a lot of ways derivative of other great funk/jazz musicians and their drumming. Paradox just channels their skills in new ways and adds his twist to it, but by the way he talks you would think he's Jesus of "adult" electronic music and that he invented breakbeats. Again, still like his music and seems like a good enough guy... but reading these runout etchings are starting to confirm my worries about him being a little too full of himself. Just had to get that off my chest

I think it's funny; he's just taking the piss and saying what most people think about general aspects of dnb!

I thought it was funny at first too, but then after reading multiple runout etchings and interviews I think

that, despite his musical skills, he can be quite childish. Defining himself in terms of what he opposes instead of what is intrinsically good about his work, etc. He kind of makes a caricature of all other dnb and puts himself on a pedestal. Maybe he got this from being a bit of child prodigy getting an early start at music and being immersed in it early before he could mature. He kind of reminds me of what high school math geniuses act like socially when they are thrown into college life early. Eh, oh well. That's that I guess.
