Re-Touch, hardcore has been in the U.S. for a very long time. People that were mixing electro, techno, house, hip hop, etc. in the 80's turned on to the sound as quickly as it came out. There were also many dual-citizens that brought the culture to the U.S. Although obviously derivative of UK rave culture, the difference in scenes is too large to summarize, really. Each major U.S. city had/has it's own unique... very unique scene. Toronto, Canada was the king of North American jungle. That mixtape is the tip of an enormous iceberg of classic North American mixtapes of London hardcore drum and bass music. If that tape is as interesting to you from your perspective as it seems, you can check out the largest collection of 1990s American hardcore jungle mixtapes right here: www.goldenerajunge.com That DJ is a good place to start. R.A.W. from Los Angeles has been mixing since the 80's and has pioneered American jungle since it began.

I don't mean to spam. Just here investigating a Kiss fm track list and noticed your comment. Respect for what you people are doing here. It's been a long time since Tarzan.spoox, right?!?! Special thanks to JJ for all the help!
