Ornette Posted August 18, 2006 Report Share Posted August 18, 2006 I think it would it be a good idea to include, or display, the 'disc image' as shown for the release information screens, in the track or release listing pages as a little icon, say 15x15px, in a left-hand-side-most column. The release format is shown on search results pages, in square brackets at the end of each result. However I think that it is just as important to deliniate this on the track & release listing pages. I don't think that there would be much point in providing a sort option for this so-called 'release format column' although if easy to implement I guess there is no harm in providing it along with all the others. At current I see that we have the following format icons:http://www.rolldabeats.com/images/disc/dsc00000.gifVinyl http://www.rolldabeats.com/images/disc/dsc00001.gifCD http://www.rolldabeats.com/images/disc/dsc00002.gifMC in common usage. These three would be the ideal three to use. Of course to these 3 main categories another couple of icons should be added - one for Digital Downloads, and one for MiniDisc (although I do not know how commonly used the MD format has been?). If there are some then, of course, we should Inlcude it but I'd be very surprised if anyone in this db had any.
