As far as years: this will always be a gray area. The release year isn't necessarily the copyright year. Especially in January you'll see a lot of releases that have the copyright dated the previous year (not to mention a few releases that are released in december and already have the copyright of the following year printed on them...). So it depends on if you're strictly using the release date, or just the copyright year (when listed). Next to that there usually isn't much info on when records were released. Promo sheets have a date listed, but quite often this wasn't the actual release date... Especially for old releases we either use the date printed on the release or the year that people bought it (people who write the date on the record when they buy it).
