The Jets - Crush On You [CLIP]

Woah, I totally just realized listening to the clip that this tune is sampled in:

Underground Software - He's Gone [Reinforced] (same with "He's Really Gone")

The really short harmonizing bit at about 22 seconds in the clip is pitched around in the intro of He's Gone

The Crush On You sample was cut at the start to form

'Rush On You' on

Weekend Rush EP Vol2 - Dica & Big Vern.

Also used the sample

"Can't Keep A Secret To Save Her Life...."

Is that the singing that goes:

"...ahhh, ahhh, ahhh, ahhh, ahhh - Woo Hoo! Ahh, sing that song..."

of the old Flex & Uncle 22 - Dick Turpin EP tune? ...and of that

Alan Braxe & Fred Faulk - "Intro" track from a few years back that, I gotta say, was actually quite good still...?!

My sister's 7" single copy of "Crush On You" that I was listening to a few months back does has that vocal but only over the music of the track and without the background voices in it...

Yes, that one. And the UK remix 12" has an accapella... of the UK remix (which doesn't have that "woo hoo! Ahh, sing that song" bit on top. So if you want that you probably need to hunt down the original.

And yes, "Intro" is a great tune!

Sounds like 'to save her life' to me. http://www.lyricsvault.net/songs/12998.html

Lyrics sites have it wrong on a lot of occasions (they depend on user submissions, and especially if the user's knowledge of the english language isn't that big you get the strangest lyrics).

The song is about one person having a crush on another one and telling this secret to a third person. This third person can't keep her mouth shut, but goes on telling it to everybody.

In other words, don't stick your nose in my life or in the tune: "Can't keep a secret, this ain't her life".

"To save her life" just doesn't fit the lyrics.

About lyrics sites: just check the lyrics for original songs and their covers and see how much they differ (if they haven't updated it's nice to check "Comfortably Numb" for Pink Floyd and the Scissor Sisters... the same tune but the listed lyrics are totally different).

That vocal is also on

DJ Solo - Axis (DMS remix) PNT 50R

On a very nice blue vinyl 10" if I remember correctly!

Watch / listen - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=637i0194MsI

Are we sure that the sample is not a sample of this Wee Papa's track? I can't find those ad-libs in any version of Crush on You on YouTube that I have found. Still don't know where the Wee Papa's got it though. Somebody show me a version of Crush On You with those added ad-libs over that section, acapella.

There is a Dakeyne Remix on the 1985 UK 12" http://www.discogs.com/Jets-Crush-On-You/release/1181739 Which makes me wonder if it's from that.

Bonus Beats on this one, but I doubt they have that section in them - http://www.discogs.com/Jets-Crush-On-You/release/1007083

Right here mate:

Check it out at about 2:27, that's all you need to know!

Here's the discogs page with the UK release, you just need to dig a little deeper!

WhoSampled.com has identified it as the extended version of Crush On Me. Confusion has occurred because many copies of it is missing the intro part with the sample.

Wrong video. (And time.)

I know how you feel, if you remove the left channel of Wee Papa's track, you get the exact same sample. Only it's in mono.

4 Hero - "Burning"

vocal wail with background voices

CLIP HERE

What remix is that? The sample you've provided is missing the part that is supposedly sampled.

Just to clarify:

The point of my post was to show the vocal sample within the tune Crush on You. I've already identified the sample earlier. I have it on my original vinyl copy so I don't really care, but thought I'd point it out. Oh and on that video it is the correct time, cheers!

If you think Who Sampled Who is so good, you may as well stay on that site mate...
