i was wondering, is it possible it show the year and a the format of the individual release in an artist's page. You could also highlight the earliest release.

Yeah, that's a cool idea. It's something that I'd really like to incorporate into the tracks view somehow and there is a field in the database for showing the original release of a track.

 

I think, in most cases. this data is correct but we'd need to make sure that was the case across the board until we implement something like this. Picking the earliest date won't always give the correct result as dates are the same for many releases and there are plenty of releases that have no date at all.

 

One other idea I had relating to this was some sort of filter at the top that would turn off all releases except the original ones in this view.

Good Idea. Some filters for CD, 12", DD... would be handy
