Thanks!

Had a look at KC, checking out some of his stuff and defo has a similar kind of sound so looks like we're on the right track. Will have to check out some more of his soon

The Chromatix - Tommy Gun id is spot on, cheers.

Best educated guess on ID090 so far is... something by Mampi Swift

This thread is long overdue an update.

Are you talking about track .07 there? Hmm I see it has it "Calibre - 'Unknown' (White)" on that original bbc listing...

Had assumed it was a bristol sounding thingy, that manipulation of the vinyl sample at the beginning (the bristol camp done a lot of that), the incidental noises, and of course the beat... which is just like the one in Krust - J.A.M. https://www.youtube....h?v=1K_S5-4vlhc

Not entirely convinced it sounds like Calibre at all but hey. Although admittedly the other track does so who knows?

dnb-id109.mp3

Yep that's the one. It's definitely Bristol inspired.

Nice channel. Have you actually confirmed its Calibre though, rather than just uploading it as him

Just to let you know, id194 B gets played by Grooverider in his show on 05.08.2000 (he doesn't ID it). Gives you at least a time frame from when it's from.

Looks like is also played on his show on 30.09.00. No details given either

There's also a vocal version played on 24.02.2001
Grooverider says "we go across the waters to japan". Ram Jam World is from japan and on may 12th show there's a tune by them in the tracklisting called Bye Bye Star. I haven't managed to get hold of that show sadly. It might not be the tune, but at least could rule it out. And also I'm genuinely interested what that tune sounds like :D
