No idea if this is related to this mix of Retreat but back in late 94/early 95 the Flex Records adverts for forthcoming releases mentioned Mickey Finn and DJ Monk remixes of Retreat.

 

Anyone know if these remixes actually happened?

Hmm, I've certainly never seen/heard those if they came out, and I think I'd remember :shock:

 

I e-mailed L Double a while back when he was just starting up Flex Classics and asked him to press up the Retreat VIP, but he said he wouldn't because it would compete with the original Retreat's sales http://www.dnbforum.com/images/smilies/new_confused.gif

 

Considering the VIP is almost a completely different tune, that doesn't make much sense, but whatever. I kinda took his response as a confirmation that, indeed, the mix I described in my e-mail to him (and what I was calling the "VIP") was, in fact, a VIP mix.
