filevans Posted February 10, 2020 Report Posted February 10, 2020 Link To Ellis Dee http://www.mediafire...Series.wav/filethanks a lot melv, really appreciated, I can now relive the feelings of getting and listening to this tape in late '92 / early '93 does anyone have a photo of the tape itself? thanks a lot Quote
filevans Posted February 10, 2020 Report Posted February 10, 2020 melv, there's quite a lot of skips in and they are not the record jumping and weren't on the original tape, note 3:26 and 4:50 and there's lots more after that If you used a PC then you have to leave it recording and not do anything else on the PC while recording otherwise the PC accesses the hard drive for lots of things and can't keep up with the recording Quote

filevans Posted February 13, 2020 Report Posted February 13, 2020 according to this The Edge catalogue, these tapes are from A5 series: http://assets.phatme...48c5003c131.jpg colours are the same too but inverted (turquoise/red) you are mixing them up with the A4 series which have a blue/red cover, NOT turquoise/red A4 series has the following DJs: Carl CoxRat PackJumping Jack FrostGrooveriderTop Buzz Quote
nebkins Posted February 13, 2020 Report Posted February 13, 2020 The Edge tape are messed up. Various catalogues mention multiple catalogue numbers for the same tapes. We tried to break the tapes down to the ones with the same inlay designs/colours. So this thread is for the GREEN tapes. Quote
filevans Posted February 13, 2020 Report Posted February 13, 2020 this catalogue doesn't seem messed up as they correspond to everything that matches on discogs firstly, according to the catalogue A4 covers aren't even green, they are BLUE (and red) the green covers are A3, please check the catalogue above and these covers here are turquoise, not green, which matches A5, in the advert the A5 cover has the colours reversed, turquiose face on red background, whereas the tapes have red face on turquoise background, but that is normal they do that on the catalogue, but the colour scheme matches Quote
filevans Posted February 13, 2020 Report Posted February 13, 2020 FabioEllis DeeRatty/Jumping Jack Frost http://s1.postimage.org/mlawJ.jpg this set is turquoise (and red) not green. Green are A3:SlipmattTop Buzz/Micky FinnSeduction Quote
jj Posted February 13, 2020 Author Report Posted February 13, 2020 this set is turquoise (and red) not green. Green are A3:SlipmattTop Buzz/Micky FinnSeduction Those tapes you've listed have red covers. It's a mistake on some of the merchandise catalogues which lists them under a green cover. Quote
jj Posted February 13, 2020 Author Report Posted February 13, 2020 This is another Edge merchandise order form using different codes: http://www.phatmedia.co.uk/flyers/event/edge-1993-merchandise-flyer1 Quote
filevans Posted February 13, 2020 Report Posted February 13, 2020 Those tapes you've listed have red covers. It's a mistake on some of the merchandise catalogues which lists them under a green cover. not really a mistake, just the same colours reversed, A3: green background with red face or on the other catalogue red background and green face, on both catalogues that use "A" prefix when they use "A" on the catalogue they match the sets and colours (albeit colours reversed) it only changes when they use "Y" or "X" prefix system, then the sets change. But if you follow the "A" prefix then these sets are "A5" on all the catalogues that use "A" prefix, and also use the same colours: turquoise / red, albeit sometimes reversed if you look at other catalogues that use the "Y" prefix then these sets become part of Y4. So it is actually accurate to describe these sets as: A5/Y4, not A4/Y4 A5 = Y4 (Turquoise face on red background or red face on turquoise background) Quote
nebkins Posted February 13, 2020 Report Posted February 13, 2020 Im really not sure why you are fixated on turquoise. They are GREEN. There are basically 4 Edge series with the Sunglasses Face on YELLOWREDGREENBLUE The catalogue numbers whether they are A2 or Y2 or whatever are fucked up and not consistent. We have grouped the relevant colours in different threads here. Quote
filevans Posted February 13, 2020 Report Posted February 13, 2020 you seem colourblind because these are turquoise (1 in 12 men are colourblind) and you can't tell the difference between turquoise and green, turquoise is a mix between green and blue, colourblind tests: https://enchroma.com...ion-test-resulthttps://www.color-bl...blindness-test/ A3 series ARE GREEN face on RED background, go and check the catalogues These sets above are turquoise with red-pink face, and they are A5 which equates to Y4 (not A4) and yes the numbers are consistent, if they use the A prefix then these sets are referred to as A5, and if they use the Y prefix they are referred to as Y4 (if they use the X prefix then that's a different number): Y1 = A2: YELLOW* / blue#Grooverider/SS, Ratty/Rap, Ellis Dee, Carl Cox Y2 = A3: RED-pink* / green#Slipmatt, Top Buzz/Micky Finn, Seduction Y3 = A4: BLUE* / red#Carl Cox, Grooverider, Jumping Jack Frost, Rat Pack, Top Buzz Y4 = A5: TURQUOISE* / red-pink# (sometimes shown in reverse colours)Fabio, Ellis Dee, Ratty/Jumping Jack Frost * Background colour# Face colour some catalogues reverse the colours of the background and the face but the colours match Quote
