H_M_M Posted December 9, 2010 Author Report Posted December 9, 2010 I think it's fair to say, ALL breakbeats have been found now. Quote
Ornette Posted December 14, 2010 Report Posted December 14, 2010 Congratulations! You are now a bonafide crate digger. Could probably do with a few more records in the collection though Quote
H_M_M Posted December 14, 2010 Author Report Posted December 14, 2010 Thanks Orn, hehheh. I've bought 4 records since trying to find ID this break when I got too optimistic that the bonusbeat/dub/remix was that break. But yeah, and now I'm going to bag this Assassinator 12"! Quote

Ornette Posted January 5, 2011 Report Posted January 5, 2011 Boogie Times Tribe - The Dark Stranger Does this actually use the beat from the record? If not you should post in the samples forum, as the vocal sample source. Quote

Lynxx Posted September 17, 2011 Report Posted September 17, 2011 The Prodigy Skylined the main skylined beat loop is taken from here:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zMIzTh0Lafg Quote
mikeeee-mk2 Posted September 18, 2011 Report Posted September 18, 2011 the main skylined beat loop is taken from here:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zMIzTh0Lafg I don't think so. Quote
Lynxx Posted September 18, 2011 Report Posted September 18, 2011 I don't think so.then take a listen: http://www.mediafire.com/?6r2zscbwnk1fd84 Quote
mikeeee-mk2 Posted September 18, 2011 Report Posted September 18, 2011 then take a listen: http://www.mediafire.com/?6r2zscbwnk1fd84 I see where you're coming from because the two bass notes at the start are the same, but the beat in the Prodigy tune sounds like a different break put through timestretch to give it that 'metallic' effect. The Baby Huey break is similar, but even when it's sped up, you can tell it ain't the one. Quote
Lynxx Posted September 18, 2011 Report Posted September 18, 2011 hmm i'm sorryyou're right, it is the bass, not beat sample  Quote
Ornette Posted July 15, 2017 Report Posted July 15, 2017 Break name: Assassinator or as I called it for a while, The Silverfox break Artist: StyleTrack name: The Assassinator (Killer Mix)Original release: 12"Label: SelectCat number: FMS 62368Year: 1990Drummer: ProgrammedDiscogs: http://www.discogs.c.../release/314631 Example: Depth Charge - Silver fox & Silver fox (dub)I'll let you guys do the rest as I've banged on about it so much CLIP Think this is based around Funky Drummer, not the main break but the rolls & fills that end out the record......then with programmed drum machine / individual hits over the top. Band hit is from Pleasure - Bouncy Lady (of course) previous research/digging: http://rolldabeats.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=54455 NB. Baby Huey - Hard Times above Quote
